Hi, my name is Josephine Leung (prounounced like "learn"). I started Hayvue so I could help organizations create delightful customer experiences.

I have worked in domains as varied as Education, Government, Healthcare, Retail, and Technology. No matter the field, I apply strategy, research, creative problem solving, emotional intelligence, and a framework of aggressive efficiency, resulting in the delivery of truly impactful outcomes for my clients and their customers.

I named my company Hayvue as a compound word that combines the Chinese word for "early morning light" (hay) with "perspective" (point du vue in French). "Hayvue" signifies the clarity that one feels during the early morning hours.

A Slackbot Enhances the Employee Experience

Description

The client wanted to address a nebulous issue plaguing their organization: why it was so difficult to find information within their organization. Rather than jump to solutions, I conducted several rounds of user research to fully understand the problem. Based on my research data, I created a few solutions to prototype. After careful evaluation from key team members, the client moved forward with a chatbot that operated within their organization's Slack application. This solution not only closed the gap between how information was distributed and how employees consumed information, but the solution also fit within their organizational goals and resources.

Templates Provide Unexpected Time-to-Value for Customers

Description

The client had an ambitious product idea that would require considerable resources to complete. To make the best use of their limited resources, I was commissioned to evaluate the best way to create a proof of concept and a go-to-market plan should the product move forward. With a vague outline of this product concept, I conducted user interviews and market research to provide enough information for a proof of concept that all relevant teams could support and revealed previously unknown user value that the product could leverage. Valuable insight gleaned from user research provided a plan for a product roadmap and feature releases. In my exploration process, my collabroation methods were also able to break down department silos and unite teams with enhanced communication and collaboration skills.

A Re-Org Provides Opportunities for Collaboration and Fun

Description

A company reorganization required several teams to merge into a single department. With multiple team projects all sharing the same pool of resources, the client struggled with how to unify and motivate team members. I conducted several team-building exercises and workshops to get members excited to work together and find new ways to reach common goals. The culmination of my work with the client was the creation of a visual aid in the form of a board game intended to illustrate how team members would work together to reach their shared outcome - to provide top-level service to their users. Boundaries, workflows, and conditions were illustrated in a visually appealling and understandable format that injected a sense of play and fun in the client's workplace dynamic.

A UI Refresh Cuts Down On Task Completion Time

Description

The client wanted to simplify their users' time to task completion during a critical step in the product's workflow. Using user research data, I worked with designers and engineers to refresh the user interface to reduce the steps to task completion and eliminate the potential need to leave the interface before task completion. User interface changes such as enhanced search functionality, an optional information panel accessible within the same screen, and a responsive digital workspace allowed users to customize the client's product to their needs and behavior as opposed to adapting their behavior to the product which reduced their task completion time.

A Structured Framework and Empathetic Questioning Provide Fruitful Prototype Testing

Description

The client wanted a way to improve the search results on its company intranet, which rarely returned the information employees were looking for. After conducting user interviews and analyzing behavioral data, I created user personas as a way to better understand the types of users, their behaviors, and create solutions that would address themes in the data. Further prototype testing allowed me to eliminate the prototypes that were the least effective, resulting in the implementation of a solution that required minimal resourses to maintain, yet yielded increases in user satisfaction and active monthly user sessions.

Keeping a Product Tour Simple

Description

The client's existing product tour for trial users yielded low conversion rates. Analyzing user behavior data and conducting competitive research, I created a simplified product walk-through that would give users a feel for the product; promote the client's market differentiator; and provide an opportunity for the user to articulate their own use case for the client's product, thereby providing the client with use case data that could be used for future product enhancements.
